And now, we'll move on to the bedroom. It's barely big enough to fit all of our furniture bedroom furniture, and you can forget about including anything extra (bookshelves, craft tables, etc.). As you can see, most of the walls are pink (there's one dark purple one, for whatever reason), so I couldn't use all of our red bedroom stuff in here. Thankfully, I rarely get rid of blankets, so I still had this purple and green quilt that's too small for the bed, but it at least matches, which is all I really care about. :)
This is what you see when you're coming into the bedroom. (For reference, it's immediately to the left of the bathroom.) You can see almost the entire bedroom from this view.
I'm happy that my little pink lamp finally has a place to live. I've had this lamp since I was about six years old (right, Mom?). You can also see more of the old quilt on the bed. My mom made the purple pillows for us -- they sat on the couch with our previous decorating scheme, but they fit in this room well.
We set our old TV (and the X-Box, VCR, and PlayStation) on my hope chest. This is because we literally had no other place to put them. :)
From here, you can see the other side of the bed. I put a crate on top of the radiator to give us a little bit of storage space. We keep the books we're currently reading there, as well as my makeup bag and nail polish. You can't see her very well in this picture, but my little garden faerie sits on top of the crate. I have a different plant there now - one called a "purple waffle," courtesy of a friend at church.
Oh, and that's Justin's diploma on the wall. Some day, I'll find a better frame for it, but considering the fact that it sat in a box for over a year, I'm just happy it's finally displayed somewhere.
As you can see, we get a lot of sunshine in this window in the afternoons!
This is the view out the window above. I'm not totally sure why I didn't take a picture of the other window, but the picture below is the view from that one:
This is the purple wall. It's not a bad color per se, but it definitely wasn't a good choice for this particular room. Thankfully, it looks mostly brown a lot of the time. Our big dresser fits perfectly on this little wall (and it wouldn't have fit anywhere else, so I'm glad it did!). The picture on the wall is from the first time we had our picture taken together as a couple (we were dating at the time) - December 2009.
My favorite snow globe is on the dresser, too. It has two swans in it, and I've had it for as long as I can remember. (If anyone knows when I got it, please tell me!)
You can see our tiny closet -- we do have more clothes, but they're mostly still packed away. I got a few nicer casual outfits, some church clothes, and that's about it aside from jeans and t-shirts.
Oh, and the cat box lives in the closet. This has turned out okay so far; or if our clothes do smell like the cat box, nobody has told me yet! (Just kidding. It gets cleaned out each day, so there's really no opportunity for it to smell. :) ) The down side to this is that the closet is always open, so people can see our shoes in the rack and all of our clean clothes.
This is the door we first came in through. You can see our second shoe rack (we have a lot of shoes), the hallway that the previous tenant painted black (?), and the linen closet, which actually mostly has cleaning supplies in it.
Next up: the living room / study!
It looks great! You do have a knack for putting a room together. I like the pink walls. :-) You were five when you got that little pink lamp. We bought for your new room when we moved. I think that snowglobe was the first one Grandma Betty gave you, so you were probably two or three. Sorry I don't know for sure. I didn't know it was your favorite!
