There isn't really a whole lot to update everyone on as far as Justin's job situation goes - Human Resources departments are notoriously slow to act. Justin has been pursuing a variety of different leads, with little to no success, but no defeat, either. We're stuck in limbo, people, and it's really starting to get boring.
We like having the spare time to watch The X-Files (we're in Season 3 of 9 now!), play video, board, and card games, watch movies, read books, have people over for dinner without feeling stressed, doing projects to beautify our apartment, and a bunch of other things. But at the same time, enough is enough - work is good!
God made work for a reason - it's beneficial for us mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and (obviously) economically. You don't really realize how helpful work is until you don't have anything productive to do for extended periods of time. Some people get a taste of this on vacation. :-)
As far as money goes, we're counting on my income to pay for rent, but everything else for August is covered. We're also hoping to go donate plasma (well, it isn't really a donation since they pay you, lol) at about $100 per week per person. With that, the occasional tutoring, selling things on craigslist, and my work, we at least won't get evicted, have the lights turned off, or starve. What more can you ask for, really?
Every prayer is very appreciated! The minute Justin gets a job, I will absolutely let you all know! <3
Wow! The payment for plasma has really gone up since I last did that about eight years ago.
ReplyDeleteYou have an excellent attitude. The forced frugality now will have keep you in good stead throughout the years. You won't be sorry, even though it may be difficult now.
Still praying, of course!
We're still praying for you guys! Something will come up, the Lord always provides.
ReplyDeleteAndre and I have come to the conclusion, that the Lord won't provide what we don't need. He will bless us with those things. So, since Andre doesn't need a 40k per year job, he won't get one, short of a blessing. (It surely would be nice, but I really don't know what we'd spend the money on, other than things we don't need)
Obviously, I have no clue what the Lord's plan is, but this makes me feel better, anyway. :)
Thank you all for the prayers and encouragement! I think this frugality will definitely help us out later (well, and now, obviously).
ReplyDeleteBrittney, Justin and I have talked about that, too - what, in reality, would we spend our money on if we had an excess? Probably food. We like food. =P We also like to buy presents for people and give money away. (I'd also get the cars maintained and send us both to the doctor, dentist, and eye doctor.) But the reality is, we don't really need any of that stuff right now, so we're fine without money. =]
*hug tackles Lizzie so hard her ribs crack* Don't get rid of too much plasma. ;) That stuff's good for you.
