I Have Fluffy Towels

Benny, Charles, and Justin
This Saturday, I got to experience one of my very favorite things for the first time in months: fluffy towels, warm out of the dryer.

Last week, Justin and I stopped at a thrift store to look for lamps.  While there, we saw a nice dryer - newer than our broken one - for only $50.  We contemplated how to fit it in my little 97 Camry for about two seconds before realizing that we'd need a miracle for that to work.  We then bemoaned our friends-with-trucks-less state before remembering that a new friend of ours has one!  He had come over for pizza, cookies, and games that week and seemed to like helping people out - especially if there was food in the deal.

Justin, looking up information
Justin called this friend, and he very obligingly met Justin at the thrift store Saturday morning and brought the dryer back.  But he didn't stop there: he also hooked it up for us, trimmed the silver tube thing that goes on the back, and helped carry the old dryer into the bedroom (where it's still waiting for a buyer).  He didn't even complain when I almost (accidentally!) gouged his eye out with the dryer cord.

Benny wanted to help, too.  Justin found a mini Snickers bar behind the old dryer and gave it to him to play with, but mostly, he just wanted to sit on top of the dryer and help.  When our friend was between the dryer and the wall, Benny looked very concerned for his safety since whenever he goes back there, he gets in trouble.  :-)
Benny, helping

I'm loving this new dryer - it dries things more quickly than the old one (I did a load of towels in 40 minutes), it's quieter, and it doesn't have a loud and annoying buzzer.  Any dryer is good with me, but this dryer is wonderful!
