Asking to come outside

After a chilly spell in the 50s, we've enjoyed 70+ degree weather for this last week and are looking forward to more of it.  We've been opening the windows regularly and enjoying the bright sunshine.  Benny decided it would be a good idea to poke a hole in the screen in the sitting room window, so we have to remember to put a fan in his way when we open that one.

One of my favorite things to do is sit outside to eat our lunch.  We did this for the first time in 2011 last week (we even let Benny come - he climbed the bush next to us and fell out a few times, but seemed to enjoy himself overall).

I also bought flowers last week!  I overestimated the number of pots I had (whoops) so they aren't all planted, but I've been making progress.  I got a rosemary plant, which I'd been wanting for a long time.  We've really enjoyed using fresh rosemary in soups, on baked potatoes, etc., and I plan to dry some when my plant gets a little bit bigger.

The birds are loving the bird feeder and scattered seed.  Unfortunately, I can't get good pictures of them because they don't come when I'm outside or when the screen door is open (plus, our resident furry monster likes to escape through that door when possible).  They're cute, though.  We use the bird book that my mom got me for Christmas to identify them as much as we can.
