Our first stop was the Space and Rocket Center. It was mostly closed, but enough was open that we learned a few things. :) We got to see an Imax movie about the Hubble telescope - it was partially about Hubble's history and partially about the knowledge NASA has acquired from the images that Hubble sends back.
Justin reads about vehicles the military uses.
(Left to right) Me, Justin, and Janet, doing more reading. :)
Justin and I, in front of a model of some shuttle or other.
Janet and Cheryl on the Mars simulator.
Cheryl, about to experience free-fall!
Afterward, we went over to a friend's lab to use her printer :) and so that Cheryl could see the lab. Cheryl teaches science, so she was interested to see a lab in a manufacturing setting. We went out for dinner that evening and then over to our friends Joy and Willy's house for a cheesecake dessert.
Willy and Xabien, who is big and fluffy.
Lest you think it was all fun and games, Cheryl came over the next morning to do some brainstorming about her plans for the next school year. Justin also showed her some new software features. (Okay, so we also had "home-grown" eggs, banana muffins, and fruit for a social breakfast, but still. We worked. :) )

Looks like fun! I think those pictures from Hubble are fascinating.
ReplyDelete(P.S. Tell Justin he shouldn't be wearing his hat inside. ;-) )
Cool! Justin looks really tall next to ya'll.
ReplyDeleteShe said that she went on a trip, but didn't say that it was to ya'll. Did you see the name on the rock cases? One of the astronauts signed it. :P
Justin is really tall, lol. :) He's grown about an inch since you saw him.
