The Good and the Bad

Today has been one of those days, and it's only noon.

Cons:
  1. Justin's car got towed because the tags had expired and we didn't get a notification through the mail or notice on our own since we never drive it.
  2. We had to pay the towing service $125.
  3. We have no hot water again.
  4. The washer smells funny again.
  5. I'm considering getting rid of the yucky couch because it's almost more trouble than it's worth.
  6. Our older computer keeps having trouble connecting to the Internet, which is a problem when you work online.
  7. Justin feels like he has too much work to do - since he works three jobs, I don't blame him!  (TPS tech assistant, tech assistant for a particular teacher who is struggling with health concerns, and tutoring.)
Pros:
  1. Even though the towing service required payment in cash, we had it - the lady was nice enough to let us pay her around $35 in change.
  2. I'd been hoping to get rid of that change anyway, but the bank charges you to deposit it, so this was a good solution.
  3. We had enough in savings to cover the cost of the towing AND the new tags, hopefully with a little left over.
  4.   It's a beautiful day outside - in the 60s, sunny, and windy.
  5. The washer still works, and bleach is cheap.
  6. We both had hot showers yesterday, so a lukewarm bath today won't be so bad.
  7. Even though the computer situation is less than ideal, we are employed!
  8. My freezer is completely full, so we can put more money toward building up our savings again instead of buying groceries next month.
  9. At this point, too much work is far preferable to none at all.
I'd definitely say the pros outweigh the cons, wouldn't you?

  1. Bummer about Justin's car getting towed!! That is *always* inconvenient and expensive. I guess that's the point.

But yes, the good outweighs the bad. :-)

  2. The pros do outweigh the cons, no doubt! I can't believe the bank charges you to deposit change. You could probably deposit it without charge a couple of dollars at a time.

I bet your washer is pooling water up somewhere. You might make sure the drain pipe is thoroughly clear.

Don't hurt yourselves taking the couch outside.

Maybe Justin should take his money from one of his littler jobs for a month and get a nice new computer.
